Last year around this time at a studio in NYC myself and the beauties above got together for a glam session and photo shoot. With my clothing brand Gwen Beloti Collection we decided to highlight real everyday women in our collection shoot. At the time I didn’t know that this would be the first of many real woman highlights. We’ve since affectionately titled this initiative #HER. The purpose is to celebrate the woman as she is and acknowledge what makes her feel beautiful (emphasis on feel).
The first time we curated this real everyday woman themed shoot, I invited my girlfriends to be a part, who else who I ask..
It was nice and refreshing to be in a space with supportive women cheering each other on. These ladies (my friends) who are women with families, jobs, social lives and the like, were so excited to get beautified and try on clothes. That is my definition of a good time, throw a little wine in and it could been an event better time (mental note for the next session ;) ).
On set we talked about fit, our bodies, what makes us feel comfortable in our clothes and dress, what are our absolute won’t dos and must dos are, etc., etc. Who better to have that type of dialogue with than people who can relate and understand your struggles and triumphs.

Shout out to ‘unknown’ they know what they are talking about.
Because the inaugural #HER shoot was such an inspiring experience we later decided to open it up to the larger community and we invite women across NYC to submit be a part of it.
Gwen Beloti Collection is currently looking for women in the NYC area to submit to be a part of the spring edition, this April. If you’re interested or know someone deserving of a glam session visit the site for more information.
Celebrate you… celebrate your girls. Happy Women’s Month!
