ABOUT ME

Gwen B.

My search for happiness led me down a path of ‘true-self’ discovery.  Along the way I lost over 60 pounds after battling with weight and body insecurities my entire life.  I’ve learned and am still learning what sustainable healthy looks and feels like.  I think I’ve gotten a true glimpse of it these past 6 months following an alkaline vegan diet.

I decided to embark on this plant based journey to combat severe stomach discomfort I began to experience. On the eve of my birthday almost three years ago, I found myself in the emergency room because I was in so much pain.

At the time I was following a relatively healthy diet and had been for a few years, so I thought. I was exercising regularly, eating more veggies and fruits, and keeping my weight in a good range, yet still I found myself in a growing state of pain. I couldn’t understand it. It was a crazy time and I was sick of it. I share about that part of my journey in the My Plant Based Journey Post.

Needles to say I had to make a change and try something different. I decided to cut out all meat and dairy, and follow a vegan diet, alkaline specifically. I consume ingredients and foods from Dr. Sebi’s nutritional guide of alkaline foods. On this blog I’m sharing my meals, recipes, and resources.

As you browse you’ll notice that I like to have fun with plating. I’m a creative at heart, I love fashion and style; making things pretty – food is no exception. It’s actually one of the keys to this lifestyle being sustainable for me. There are three of them, three keys, you can check them out here.

I hope something on this blog will be informative, insightful or inspiring. I’m not a doctor, nutritionist or the like, I’m merely sharing my personal wellness journey and experience.

If any of the content resonates with you, amazing.
